July Foster Mom update: Huff n Puff hates this picture "because it makes my stomach look
HUGE!!" He wants me to tell you that "He is NOT FAT !!" " IT IS JUST THE CAMERA ANGLE." I tell him he is right and not to worry, his tummy is a normal size and that humans will understand the concept of camera angle distortion. I tell him the picture is so cute I can't resist showing it.
It is true that he is not fat. His stomach is pink though .And he is enormously cute. He is a happy guy. I mean he doesn't look like an uptight, wound tight, tight-ass kind of a kitty does he? He's not. Quite the opposite.
May update: Huff is doing great. When he came to us he had an irritated bladder and he was put on special bladder soothing food. Now he is over all that and eats normal cat food and all issues with his bladder are a
thing of the past. He is such a happy go lucky, good natured guy.
You can bathe him, fuss with his hair, clip his nails and do whatever and he is gracious about it. He is currently sharing a room with his buddy Chance the big Ragdoll. He is cat friendly and gets along with lots of his fellow fosters. He is a happy guy. I think it took him a while to recover from the stress of his previous caged and unloved state. It is fun to watch him run and play with such enthusiasm. For a while he sported a mohawk down his spine. Now he is sporting a little lion cut and couldn't be cuter. He loves attention and even more than that he loves it when you play with him. He does not want to be an only cat. That description is a thing of the past.

Huff n' Puff is one of the more socialized of the 95 Himalayans in
Crisis situation. He was completely matted and had to get a Lion Cut so
he looks just a tad bit bedraggled right now. Puffer's coat coloration
is called "Van". That means the cat is mostly white with less than 25%
color found mostly on the head, tail, and feet. It's a very striking
look once the coat has fully grown in. He has very beautiful round
copper/gold eyes and a little button nose. He has very healthy clear
eyes that don't get the drainage that you see in some of the more
extreme faced Persians. He will be spectacular.
We believe he was one of
the cats that was initially hidden away in hopes the breeder would be
able to keep them to continue breeding. We're so glad the Huff n' Puff
was found so that he gets to live his life as a family member instead of
in a cage somewhere.
H. Puff might be OK with
dogs. Apparently the breeder had several golden retrievers so some
of the cats are used to being around dogs. He has been around multiple
other cats. For the most part he gets along, but occasionally he will
bully a certain cat. His foster mother is evaluating him further so that
we can figure out what will be the ideal situation for him.
He is
fostered in Santa Cruz.
