HUFF n' PUFF, ~5 yo Black & White Van Persian. Huff n' Puff is one of the more socialized of the 95 Himalayans in Crisis situation. He has very beautiful round copper/gold eyes and a little button nose. He has very healthy clear eyes that don't get the drainage that you see in some of the more extreme faced Persians. He will be spectacular.

BILLIE BOB, 5 yo + Blue & White Persian. This adorable little fella came to us when his breeder died last month. He is CFA registered. We believe he may even have been a Champion. We did find him in a stuffy garage living in a small cage, but we hope in our hearts that he got to spend some time being loved somewhere besides a cage. He did come to us with a name, but it has been lost in the shuffle. For now we're calling him Billie Bob.

POPPY, 9-10 year old female Chinchilla Persian. Poppy is really a Princess in disguise. She is one spunky and spoiled little girl! She likes to drink her water out of a coffee cup and please add ice cubes thank you very much. Poppy is such a fun cat, she will tell you all about her day and not so gently remind you to keep her water fresh. Just one look into her incredible green eyes will melt your heart.

The Cat Fanciers' Association website offers breed profiles that present a brief look at each breed's history, characteristics and personality. Check out the links below.

new photo and updated bio!
AYA, 3-5 yo Calico/Torbie Persian. Aya is a Japanese name that means "colorful" or "design". Well, she's both: a colorful design, basically a work of art. When you look at this cat it takes your breath away. She is just so beautiful you want to possess her. She has a wide open face and huge round eyes. She looks like an Ewok. Her markings are amazing, and her coat is going to be glorious.

KIRA, 2 yo Calico Persian. Poor Kira! She was in very poor condition when she came to us. She and five other cats all came in together when their elderly caretakers could no longer keep up with the grooming, feeding, and general needs of these high maintenance cats.

WAKEMAN, 10 yo +/- Flamepoint Himalayan. Sweet Wakeman. Approximately 18 months ago he and about 100 other Himalayans were taken from the home of an aging breeder by the local Animal Control. Wakeman is one of the last of this group and it's taken quite an effort to get him in shape. We called him Waif Man when he first came to us. His ears were so full of mites that his ear canals were blocked solid and stretched out really wide. His skin was a mess and most of his hair just fell out in our hands. He had raging diarrhea and conjunctivitis. But now he's nearly ready to go home.

TRIXIE, 1 yr old female tortie Persian. Well I am a happy playful girl. Affectionate. I love attention. I do not like sharing it with other cats and would probably prefer not to have other kitties around. Maybe we could get along. Depends on the cat. I eat wet and dry and am litterbox perfect.

ANGELINA, 4-6 yo Shaded Silver Exotic Shorhair. What a beautiful and rare kitty. We've only seen one other Silver Exotic in our entire time doing Rescue. Along with her beauty is a sweet personality which makes for a winning combination. She will be fine as an only cat, or with one or two others. We don't know how she does with dogs.

GARFIELD, 1-2 yo Red Exotic Shorthair. Wow. This boy is a copper eyed beauty, and as nice as he is good looking. He is Cat #26 of the Antioch Persians seized last month. As you can see when he was at the shelter Garfield was pretty upset, scared and hiding. And did we mention completely matted??? Well, fear not, Jenn has come to the Rescue. She is great with our scared kitties and has turned him into an in your face lover boy.

DALTON, 1-2 yo Red & White Exotic Shorthair Persian. Dalton is one of the Antioch Persians. There were so many Red & Whites that we aren't sure exactly which number he is. What we are sure of is that this is another wonderful cat. He was pretty scared when we got him out of the shelter but he's done a complete turn around. He is now in a foster home where he is being socialized with other cats as well as a couple of small dogs.

PUMPKIN, 4-6 yo Copper Eyed Black Persian. Front paw declaw. What a pretty girl, and what a difficult start she had with us. She came from a shelter far, far away. She was dropped off as a stray in ghastly condition. Fully matted and nearly starved, she could barely walk around. We were pretty concerned about her when she came into our care. A few months later we barely recognized Pumpkin when she came for her photo shoot.

ROSIE, 2 yo Female Red & White Persian. This is one lovely girl. Happy, playful, affectionate. Deep saturated red silky hair with a little white on her toes and bib. Copper headlight eyes. She does everything right. Her roommate had a human visitor and she, who had been lazily lounging in her window basket for a week, suddenly got up and said very effectively, "HEY, I'LL PLAY, LET ME HAVE THAT FEATHER!!!" And there she was, a ball of fire and personality.

MERRIE, 2 yo Female Calico Exotic Shorthair Persian. This cute little girl has dramatic coloring with her black and red fur with just a little white. She is a play monster and will do just about anything to get the feather that wiggles in front of her. Literally. Her focused attention on that feather is amazing and very entertaining. She's a calico and you can see her determination in her expression. I expect she could back off just about any dog though I don't know that for a fact.

PRINCE RUPERT, 1 yo Male Red & White Exotic Shorthair Persian. Look at those huge copper eyes and wonderful copper red fur. He is a beautiful young boy with a huge tail. He still needs some combing out and then a bath to be perfectly fluffy but you can see what a handsome kitty he is. He is playful and fun. Loves attention. He is thrilled with all his new amenities, especially wet food. He came in at a fairly good weight and eats his wet with great gusto and enjoyment. He will call you to tell you he is ready for breakfast. (All these Antioch kitties have learned that wet food is edible and they certainly like it.

MARCUS, 2 yo Male Tabby & White Exotic Persian. Look at those copper eyes!!! This beautiful boy is quite an armful. His wonderful fur is soft and plush. His little pink tongue is out most of the time. Super cute. He has an affectionate good natured, mild disposition. Wet food is his favorite though he likes cuddles even more. He is playful and curious. He asks for attention by rubbing heads with you. He is Antioch kitty number 20.

SKINNY, 2 yo Male Red & White Persian. Well, it will be great when this guy is ready for a brand new name. Right now he is super skinny and he is a fairly large Persian with long legs and body. He is Antioch kitty number 17. He won my heart immediately. There is something about him. His way of looking at you so deeply. He loves humans and attention.

COCO, 3 year old female white and black Persian. Friendly Coco is as sweet as she is adorable! One of the rescued Antioch Persians, she is a lovable girl who "chirps" to let you know she wants to be petted. She is good with other cats, and will groom any cat who will let her! Coco also enjoys the attention of well-behaved kids. While she loves a good cat-nap, she has a frisky side as well, and likes to play with the Cat Dancer and other kitty toys.

RED FRED, 4 yo Red Exotic Shorthair Persian. This red character won the hearts of the first folks that walked by. His deep copper eyes match his deep red fur. His personality is huge. He has the quality of being intimate and personal in his connection to humans. He is very much a friend, full of individuality, and not a stuffed animal type of pet. His lush white whiskers must be mentioned - they are extravagant, all lined up together as a dramatic accent point. His color is as saturated a red as I've ever seen.

new february update
ERNEST, 2 yo Male Red & White Exotic Shorthair Persian. Gorgeous copper eyes set in a smaller little head. Pink nose and mouth. Very cute boy. He has a very saturated red tail and a mostly white body. Like Prince Rupert he is a play monster and loves to devote himself to feather control and capture. When he is done with that he will lavish his attention on you in the hopes of winning your heart and earning himself a bowl of wet food. He has a smaller head and a cobby body and is super cute and appealing. His sweetness is very apparent. He will make someone very happy. He is friends with his roommate and would rather not be an only kitty.

SMOKER, 5 y/o Male, Black Smoke Exotic Shorthair Persian. What a darling little character Smoker is. Who could resist his adorable face? Little Smoker is just that – a tiny little man. He is quite stocky, but has short petite legs and tiny bones. All the other Exotics we have in rescue tower over him. Smoker is one of the last few cats from the 25 Persians in Crisis group from a few years ago. He is one of the few cats the owner was allowed to keep at that time, but we never forgot about him and have been trying to get him into rescue for the last two years.

March update & new photos
HORATIO JONES, 3 yo Male Red Tabby Persian/Maine Coon Mix. Can you tell what a HUNK I am? Bet you've never seen a Persian like me! I am 15- 16 pounds and not an ounce of fat. I am Built. Solid. Gorgeous. My foster mom calls me a "comfort cat". A big armful of soft, hard cuddly kitty. (The soft part is my fur, the hard part is my buffed muscles).
