All cats have now been signed over to Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue. Our job is going to be to save the lives of the surviving cats and help them find loving homes where they will never suffer again.
Some of these cats are in tragic condition and will need quite a bit of vet care before we are able to place them. At least two of them are requiring immediate hospitalization to save their lives. Most of them are dangerously thin and will take time and good groceries for months to get their weight back up. All of them have raging diarrhea and skin conditions which are treatable with proper medication and good clean living conditions.
Many of these cats will be in rescue for 1-4 months and we will need to pay for the costs of feeding them. And have we mentioned the diarrhea? We are going to be spending a lot of money on cat litter and wee wee pads as we work to keep that environment as clean as possible. If we don't then the cats will continually reinfect.
The bottom line is that we're begging for you to help us out here. Please consider a donation for food/litter/medication or a general donation toward vet care for any cat. We will also have costs for spay/neuter, testing for FELV/FIV, vaccinating and microchipping of the cats.
As we list the individual cats we will be posting some of their sponsorship needs and you may feel touched to donate to a single cat. All donations will go directly to care for the cats. No volunteer for Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue receives compensation for their efforts to save the lives of these cats. You may donate via paypal or via snail mail. Be sure to put a note that you are donating toward the "The Hybrid cats", or name the individual cat you wish to sponsor.
This page is updated frequently as we learn more about the medical needs and personalities of each cat.

SAHARI, 1-2 yo Female Silver Spotted Savannah. What a gorgeous girl. She came to us so scared and shy and with the same parasite problems as the other 911 cats. Sahari was not able to be handled and difficult to medicate and we thought we would lose her because we couldn't medicate her. Right now she is coming around health wise and her foster mom is able to pet her and is starting to pick her up. It could be several months before this beautiful girl will be posted to the adoptable page. To see more current pictures, click HERE.

i've been sponsored! read my march 10 update and see new photos.
BABY, 10 month old Female Chausie. After a long period of time, Baby's recovery is almost complete. Gone are the parasites, gone is the horrible diarrhea, gone are the patches of baldness. Through lots of medication, patience and TLC, Baby has become quite an impressive cat.
Read more about her HERE.

adopted
ARORA,
7-9 month old Female Blue Abyssinian. This petite girl came to us at 3 1/2lbs. She was terribly thin and also had ear mites and a lot of hair loss. Her raging diarrhea has calmed but she is still having problems and will probably be on medicine and a special diet for at least another month. The good news is that Arora after 2 weeks weighs 4 1/2lbs still a bit thin but doing better. She has energy now and is very loving and adorable. You can read more HERE.

adopted
Dakari, 7-9 month old Female Ruddy Abyssinian. Dakari is a beautiful, petite girl and only weighed 4lbs when she came to us. She had the raging diarrhea, ear mites and hair loss, but is coming along and now weighs 5lbs. She will be a small girl. See more pictures HERE.

adopted
NAKAI, Young Male Savannah. Nakai is still putting on weight and we're treating the skin and intestinal issues that came with all of these cats. As you can see he is bald in some areas of his body. We think that is due to very poor nutrition and expect that coat to be lush and lovely in another few months. See lots more pictures HERE.

adopted
AUTUMN, 1-2 yo Savannah/Bengal. With her
vivid green eyes and rust colored coat, she looks like a tree in Autumn
foliage. One of our volunteers said she looks like she's been over
saturated in Photoshop. It's hard to believe a cat can have such rich
colors. She has a wonderful personality to match the good looks. You can see more pictures of her HERE.

adopted
NALA, 7-12 month old Female Savannah. This darling girl weighed only 4 lbs when we got her. And her body condition is pretty poor right now. She is very thin, has raging diarrhea, ear mites, and has lost quite a bit of hair.
We assume hair loss is more from diet than from allergies or other conditions. Nala is getting a medication cocktail for the diarrhea and is being treated for skin conditions that all of these cats have had. Read more about her HERE.

adopted
COCO, ~1 yo Female Chocolate Grizzled Chausie. Coco's bottom is raw from the ravages of
internal parasites. She is currently on a cocktail of three different
medications. We are also treating her for ear mites, and some skin
issues.
Read more about her HERE.

adopted
PATCHES, 1 yo Female Non-Standard Spotted Tabby & White F1 Savanah. Patches is ... unbelievable. Patches is a cat that blew our minds. When
the shelter staff called us about the Savannahs in their shelter they
said there was one fabulous Savannah that all of the staff was gaga
about. See more pictures of Patches HERE.

adopted
TOPAZ, 2 yo Female Ruddy Abyssinian. This shy girl came to us with raging diarrhea (and a very sore red, swollen butt), ear mites and quite a bit of hair loss, reason unknown. Poor thing! I couldn’t start the medicine quick enough. But she is responding and after coming in at 5 1/2lbs, and after 2 weeks she is over 6lbs. Oh, and the shy girl who was so scared, comes to me for love and cuddles. Read more about her HERE.

urgent! sponsorship needed
SCAR, 1-3 month old Male Chausie. Scar is pretty scarred up on his head. Judging from the way these cats go
after food we figure he may have gotten beat up fighting for his dinner.
Currently he is not doing really well in Rescue. He feels a bit punky
and we're going to need to get him to a vet. He may need a blood panel
or a change of meds.
Read more about him HERE.

read her january 10 update
SHA SHA, 1-2 yo Ruddy Abyssinian. Sha Sha's photos help us put a fine point on what animals go through in
puppy and kitten mills. She is reflective of the body condition of close
to a dozen of the cats we took in this group. All are in bad condition,
but the ones like this are quite shocking to deal with on a daily basis. Read her full story HERE [warning...graphic photos].

adopted
BELLA, 9-12 month old Female Marbled Bengal. This is Miss ADHD girl – friendly, always talks, always on the go and into everyone’s business. Amazing when you realize that she came to us with raging diarrhea and a red, swollen butt, couldn’t get enough to drink for at least a week and the start of a Upper Respiratory Infection. She weighed 5 1/2lbs and now is over 6lbs. Given her tenacity, she may be on her way to a speedy recovery. Read her progress HERE.

adopted
BEETLE JUICE, 1-2 yo Chausie. When we first went to the shelter Beetle Juice (aka BJ) was one of three
cats that weren't expected to make it. He was in such bad condition from
the diarrhea and parasites that he had no bowel control. He was just
skin and bones and looked so miserable it was hard to look him in the
eye. You can see more pictures HERE.

adopted
SCARLETT, ~1 yo Female Savannah. This girl is in the most
danger. Although her body frame is the size of an adult domestic cat,
she weighs barely three pounds. There is still some doubt about her
ability to fully recover from her ordeal. She is so thin she can hardly
hold herself up and she has stopped eating on her own. The parasites
have nearly destroyed her insides and she currently has no bowel
control. She has several different nasty parasites that have almost
killed her. Read her Oct. 17 update HERE.

adopted
MANGO, 6-8 month old Female Red Abyssinian. This beautiful girl with fur that demands to be touched came to us with raging diarrhea and a swollen, red butt. Poor thing! You could tell how uncomfortable she was. She was 5 lbs and after 2 weeks she is almost 6lbs. I am sure she is Fagan’s sister. Read more about her HERE.

adopted
DOEJI (formerly White Boy), 3 yo Male Oriental. As you
can see he is still gaunt after two weeks in Rescue. We were a little
worried that we were going to lose him when he first got here, but he's
pulled through like a champ. We are still fine tuning the skin, ears, and intestinal
issues that came along with all of these cats. You can see a larger picture HERE.

adopted
MAXIM, 2 yo Male Blue Abyssinian. This is a full grown Aby and very long and lanky. He weighed under 5 1/2 lbs when we got him. You could see his hip bones and his ribs. But I am happy to report that after 2 weeks he is now 7lbs. He will look great with another pound on him. His raging diarrhea took away his energy and he still can’t jump up to his cage but he is now jumping out of it. Made you want to cry to see how thin he was. He also had ear mites and 2 skin conditions probably from his immune system being down. They are both being treated. See more pictures HERE.

adopted
FAGAN, 6-8 month old Male Red Abyssinian. Mango's brother, Fagan is a shy boy, again with that wonderful fur you have to touch. He had the raging diarrhea and some hair loss but he came in at barely 4lbs. He has done well and now weighs 5 ½ lbs. He is still shy but coming around. See more pictures HERE.

adopted
ANGEL, 6-8 month old Female Ruddy Abyssinian. In spite of raging diarrhea with the red swollen butt probably the worse of the group of cats, she is always welcoming and loving and friendly. Amazing when you think of all she has been through. This petite girl weighed 4lbs coming into rescue, had a very thin coat and treatable skin conditions. She is now 5 ½ lbs and doing much better but it will probably be at least a month before she is past this. Read her January update HERE.
